About me
Hi, I'm Matthew, a game/level designer.
I'm enthusiastic about creating interesting and unique experiences whether it's through environmental story telling or strategically planned levels. Currently I'm studying Games Design at the University of Ulster to begin my game development career.

Souls & Sails
Unity | Team Size: 1
Souls & Sails is my largest project, created for my final assignment in college.
It is a 3D First-Person Survival adventure where you can gather resources, craft new equipment and sail your own pirate ship to distant islands. Just be wary of the large Soul Storm that will be chasing you.

Holo-Charge
Unity | Team Size: 1
Holo-Charge is my first game project, it was created for a college assessment.
It is a 3D platformer where you navigate a holographic ball throughout a fantasy mixed with sci-fi environment.
Wraith's Kunai
Autodesk MAYA | Adobe Substance Painter
This model is a recreation of a character's weapon the video game Apex Legends.
I created this model for practice and to hone my 3D modelling skills.

Edge of Time
Unity | Team Size: 1
Edge of Time was my first experience with the Unity Engine, learning the basics of the toolkit and the C# scripting language.
It is a white-boxed prototype of a level; the player finds themselves in a strange forest encountering letters and objects that tells/shows a story and discovering a dark twist...
Pack 'n Stack
Unity | Team Size: 3 | 48 Hours
Pack 'n Stack is a game created as our submission to the NI Student Game Jam 2022.
This was my first team project and served as a large learning experience co-operating with others.
Pack 'n Stack is an arcade style warehouse sorting game; the player's objective is to reach the highest score by lifting storage boxes to their designated locations within a time frame.

Ruined Robot
Autodesk MAYA | Adobe Substance Painter
This robot design took inspiration from the Disney character Wall-E with a few twists.
I animated the robot to slowly drive forward depicting a sad backstory to the abandoned robot, however the robot spots the viewer and stops with joy, shown with a raised and tilted head, then gives an exaggerated wave to the camera.
